World Fringe Congress

15th to 17th August 2014, Edinburgh, UK
Hosted by the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society

The World Fringe Congress brings together directors and organisers of Fringes from across the globe to share ideas, experiences and inspirations. The Congress fosters international collaboration and strengthens the World Fringe community.

The Congress is the only formal gathering of international Fringe representatives and aims to bring together and inspire the Fringe community through a mix of discussion and networking events, all taking place during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe – the world’s largest arts festival and birthplace of the original Fringe. It's a chance for Fringe organisers and directors from all over the globe to meet to share ideas and experiences and to build international collaborations. We also aim to raise awareness of the scale and importance of Fringe activity on the world stage.

World Fringe Congress 2014 was part of the Culture 2014 programme, which accompanied the Commonwealth Games which took place in Glasgow, and was funded by the City of Edinburgh Council, Creative Scotland, EventScotland and British Council Scotland.
